General Description:-
We visited this site on our way west to Portugal, it turned out to be a great choice although we were a bit taken aback when we arrived to find the site empty and the gate closed but as we were pondering our next move the owner came, opened the gate and pointing to the campsite said to select any pitch we fancied and don’t worry about registering till later. With all 24 large flat pitches to choose from we pitched nearest the facilities block. Within a couple of hours there were a total of nine units on the site. All (except us) had packed up and gone before 9.30 the following morning. This does make a superb overnight stop being just a few yards from the main road from Santander/Bilbao to Portugal, however there is plenty to see and do in the area and with a site as pleasant and welcoming as this it seems a shame to rush through.

The staff are multilingual and very helpful.

Toilets and Showers:-
The facilities block is modern and clean with piping hot water in the showers and although loo paper is provided soap and towels are not.

Laundrette:-
There is a launderette on site but we did not use it.

Restaurant:-
A Dutch couple, as they were leaving, were complimentary about the meal they had in the site restaurant so we tried it on our second night there. There was no menu, the owner offers a couple of choices then bustles off to the kitchen to cook your choice. It was so good we repeated the exercise the next night, three courses for €12.00 plus €8.00 for a very good bottle of wine.

Conclusions:-
Although the immediate area is flat and uninspiring and next door is an industrial complex that occasionally makes a noise this is a site that we would most definitely recommend. There is much to see and do in the local area, Salamanca and Zamora are both worth a visit, the staff helpful and friendly, the restaurant good - whats not to like???
